Eileen Thompson

Eileen has been a volunteer at Durham Hospitals Radio for over 10

years now and absolutely loves what she does “I always try to reach my

audience in all of the topics and programmes I present in order to allow our

patients to feel they are personally invited into my outdoor activities or relating a song or comment to their own life we are all friends together music is the best medicine “

Eileen presents The Feelgood hour and The Treetops Show for the children on ward 7 every Friday when she isn’t working at DHR she is in great demand as a Children’s Entertainer being a Ventriloquist is wonderful to add some fun when visiting the Children on the Treetops ward along with her puppets Just recently Eileen was delighted to be awarded The Silver for best Female Presenter and Bronze for best speech package at The National Hospital Radio Awards in Bolton .On a Saturday she changes her style and presents The Glam Rock Granny Show and The Request Show on a Tuesday evening with Nikki For the 3rd year running she’s doing the Great North Run. Her passion is wildlife nature and photography.
