Terry Clough

Background

My name is Terry Clough and I have been proud to be  Hon. Chairman

of DHR for 17 years. I joined DHR in its infancy-this is now our 60th year-and have seen many changes over the years. My early involvement included the use of vinyl and manual decks. Now we have a database of music with access to a wide variety of music at the press of a switch. As with everyone Covid brought its hurdles but we continued to provide a 24hour service though live broadcasts were obviously limited. A laptop on my kitchen table became my studio and radio life continued in a different form.

Now we’re almost back to normal, are able to visit wards for requests and continue with aspects that are most important to us.I am a great believer in the healing power of music and this continues to be our greatest  motivation at Durham Hospitals Radio. My interests outside DHR revolve around my family-our daughter, son-in-law and their family. We have two wonderful grandchildren who are a big part of our lives.I enjoy watching football and cricket and going to live concerts whenever possible. I love listening to a wide variety of music which a great help in my role at DHR.

In conclusion I would like to thank all members of our great team who make me so proud to be part of DHR.
